  • What will be posted on the Portal?

    The Portal would provide two major posting opportunities: One - posting of draft business related policies and regulations by the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies to solicit inputs and comments from the public on any policy they intend to introduce that will affect businesses as well as review of existing regulation Two - posting of business-related regulations(Acts, Legislative Instruments, Regulatory Notices, Administrative Directives, Procedures, Forms and Fees) providing businesses with an up-to-date one-stop repository and easily accessible information on all business regulations in force in Ghana.

  • What is the Ghana Business Regulatory Reforms Portal?

    The Ghana Business Regulatory Reforms Portal is an interactive portal that provides policy makers and regulators the opportunity to consult with a wider and more diverse audience in a transparent and timely manner, and at considerable cost savings than is practically possible at public forums and workshops. scrutiny of prospective business policies, regulations, administrative directives, by laws, etc. It is not an avenue to discuss any other prospective laws of Ghana and has been designed as such to enhance access to information and promote investment.

  • Will I pay any subscription/participation fees?

    Participants shall not pay any fees whatsoever but to be assured of full participation of postings, you should register as a user of the platform.

  • How would an agency know there are comments on a posted Policy?

    Comments are received into the database of the Portal and a copy automatically sent to the posting officer in its original form anytime someone submits a comment. The posting officers can access all comments related to their posted policies when they log unto the Portal anytime.

  • Can I use any browser to access the Portal?

    You can view the information on the Portal and submit your feedback online using any web browser.

  • Will my comment receive attention and be incorporated into the final policy?

    The decision to take into consideration or otherwise of comments on posted policy is the prerogative of the posting entity

  • What is Government's ultimate goal for implementing the Ghana Business Regulatory Reforms Portal?

    The ultimate goal of Government is to make Ghana the most business-friendly nation in Africa through sustainable and systemic improvement in the business regulatory environment to be able to attract the necessary investments that will help us transform the economy and create jobs.

  • Will an individual be able to submit comments on public policy posted on the platform?

    Yes. One major objective of the Portal is to solicit comments and inputs from the general public on any draft public policy posted on the Portal. It therefore gives the general public the opportunity to submit their comments including attaching relevant documents in support of ones input.

  • Who can register on the Portal?

    Every member of the public who wants to participate in the business consultation processes in formulating policies and regulations is welcome to use this portal. Private individuals, corporate entities, Think Tanks, industry associations and the general public.

  • Can I access the website via my mobile phone?

    Yes, the Ghana Business Regulatory Reforms Portal is mobile-friendly and responsive. The Portal also has mobile apps (android and iOS) which can be installed on smart phones for all transactions.

  • How does this feed into the reforms?

    The business consultation portal is one of the seven main components of the Business Regulatory Reform Strategy which are inter-linked. The Ministry of Trade and Industry is coordinating the implementation of the strategy. The implementation of the regulatory impact assessment programme and the development of an online E-Registry of all business regulations in force, will lead to a significant improvement in the regulatory governance in Ghana, for the benefit of the private sector.

  • What happens to feedback that I submit through the Public Consultations page?

    The feedback received through the Public Consultations page is sent directly to the Government agency which posted the consultation paper.

  • Can I conduct a search on this Portal?

    Yes. The platform provides search and query functionality (simple and advance) which gives easy and timely response on specific provisions and sections of the various Business Regulations based on the search keyword/phrase entered.

  • Can I access an entire Business Regulations on the Portal?

    Yes. The Portal has digital formats (pdf version)of various Acts, Legislative Instruments, Regulatory Notices, Administrative Directives, Procedures which could be viewed online, downloaded and printed from the Portal.

  • How about access to existing laws and other business regulations?

    The Electronic Registry component of the Portal provides businesses with an easily accessible, one-stop repository of up-to-date information on all business regulations in force in Ghana. These business regulations include Acts, Legislative Instruments, Regulatory Notices, Administrative Directives, Procedures, Forms and Fees.

  • Can an individual post videos on the portal to support my feedback?

    No, posting of video is only reserved for specific persons (government agencies and ministries). Feedback on postings shall be in text format only.

  • Who can post on the Portal?

    Only ministries and government agencies can post policies. Posting of policies differs from commenting on such policies, which can be done by general public. However, where there is a conflict of policies by two government entities with regard to posting, the two shall agree among themselves and give in for the other to be responsible for posting of that policy. There shall be no government-to-government platform to regulate such conflict but this shall be done through dialogue between the heads of those entities.

  • What is the purpose of the brr.gov.gh?

    The purpose of the Ghana Business Regulatory Reforms Portal is to provide a voice for all in public business consultations. It is to help deepen inclusiveness in public consultations in formulating policies and regulations. It gives all citizens including the business community the opportunity to share their views on policies and regulations that affect their businesses without having to be present at physical location for stakeholders' consultation.

  • Can I change my Interests?

    Yes. Users can always edit their preferred interest(s) either by adding/widening your interest or removing an interest you no longer wish to receive policy postings from.

  • What can I do with a search result?

    A search results on the Portal can be shared via email or social media apps such as whatsapp, facebook, twitter, etc.

  • Why is this significant, and what difference will it make for policy makers (MDAs), and for businesses?

    The Ghana Business Regulatory Reforms Portal is an interactive portal that provides policy makers and regulators the opportunity to consult with a wider and more diverse audience in a transparent and timely manner, and at considerable cost savings than is practically possible at public forums and workshops.
    It would afford affected businesses and individuals enough time to adequately prepare their inputs to participate in consultations on business policies and regulatory reforms on a regular basis.

  • Can I indicate preference for policy/notification

    Yes, a user can indicate preference for a particular policy and subsequent notification during registration. For instance, a user can opt to be notified for all business policies on sports and banking.
