Chartered Institute of Bankers Ghana Act, 2019 (Act 991)
Section 18: A person qualifies for registration as a member of the Institute if that person is qualified to be registered as
(a) a chartered banker under section 17;
(b) a student member under subsection (2) of section 15;
(c) an associate member under subsection (3) of section 15;
(d) a fellow of the Institute under subsection (6) of section 15; or
(e) an honorary fellow under subsection (8) of section 15.
(2) A person is not qualified to be registered as a member of the Institute if that person has been
(a) convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction of an offence involving fraud or dishonesty;
(b) declared by a certified psychiatrist and adjudged by a court of competent jurisdiction to be of unsound mind;
(c) adjudged insolvent or bankrupt by a court of competent jurisdiction and is not discharged; or
(d) whilst a member of another professional body found by the disciplinary committee of that body to be guilty of professional misconduct as specified in the Third Schedule.
