Regulation 56
(1) The Commission shall, within twenty-one days after the Minister has approved a recommendation to grant the merger of the licences, on behalf of the Minister give notice to the applicant of the grant and the fees payable in respect of the grant, as set out in Form Sixteen of the First Schedule.
(2) The applicant shall within fifteen days after notice has been given under subregulation (1), pay the applicable fees to the Commission.
(3) The Minister shall, within fifteen days after the payment of the applicable fees, issue a new licence in respect of the merged area to the applicant.
(4) The grant of the licence shall be by an agreement in triplicate between the Minister and the applicant and the agreement shall be signed by both parties.
Procedure to Follow
Submit Your Application
Once you have filled and gathered all the required documents you will have to submit it at the district office.
It takes 5 days to review the application. The next 5 days is for notification of errors.
Submission To Mineral Titles Department (MTD)
10 days after registration, the district office shall submit the application to MTD.
MTD review the application in 10 days and records it in the priority register
MTD Publishes In The Gazette
15 days after recording, MTD publishes in the gazette, notify chiefs, traditional authorities etc. through the Commission's District Offices.
Application Dossier
Within ten (10) days after publication, District Office shall submit application dossier to MTD for appropriate recommendation to Minister
Minister Takes Decision
Once you have completed these steps you are ready to start your business.
You need to renew your license every three (3) years.
Approval / Rejected
21 days notification to applicant and Fees payable if approved.
Reasons are given if rejected.
Applicable Fees
Within 60 days, applicant pays applicable fees and gives notice of acceptance of the grant to Minister and Commission in writing.
License
Minister on proof of payment of applicable fees, issues licence to applicant within 30 days after the date of acceptance of the grant....
