Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical Regulations) L.I. 2182
Regulation 440—The manager of a mine shall ensure that in the mine where winding is stopped for the purpose of a repair or for any other purpose for a period that exceeds two hours, the winding engine is not used for raising or lowering a person until the cage, skip or other means of conveyance has undergone at least one complete trip up and down the working portion of the shaft.
