Ports (Elmina) Order, 1960 (LI 58)
Elmina Constituted a Harbour. The port of Elmina is hereby constituted as a harbour of Ghana and the said harbour shall comprise all the land, foreshore and waters within and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the motor road from Elmina to Sekondi which point is approximately 50 feet from the Western corner of St. George's Castle at Elmina in the Cape Coast District of the Western Region of Ghana the boundary runs on a bearing of approximately 327 degrees for approximately 65 feet to a point situate at the south western edge of the old bridge (now demolished) thence on a bearing of approximately 263 degrees for approximately 1700 feet to a point which point is approximately 23 feet North of a pillar marked GCS.76 and thence on a bearing of 360 degrees of approximately 460 feet to a point on the North bank of Benya Lagoon which point is approximately 10 feet South of a pillar marked GCS.90 and follows the North bank of the aforesaid Benya Lagoon in a general Easterly direction for approximately 1500 feet to a point and thence following a retaining wall on a bearing of approximately 30 degrees for approximately 115 feet to a point and thence on a bearing of approximately 98 degrees for approximately 88 feet to a point on a concrete drain of the motor road from Cape Coast and thence follows the said concrete drain on a bearing of approximately 159 degrees for approximately 60 feet to the end of a wall and thence follows the South Eastern side of the wall on an approximately bearing of 53 degrees for approximately 208 feet to the end of the aforesaid wall and thence on a bearing of approximately 49 degrees for approximately 140 feet to a point on the Low Water Mark of the Gulf of Guinea and thence follows the Low Water Mark in a general North-North Easterly direction for approximately 2810 feet to a point due South of pillar GCS.103 and thence on a bearing of 180 degrees for approximately 2310 feet to a point and thence on a bearing of 270 degrees for approximately 900 feet to a point on the Low Water Mark of the aforesaid Gulf of Guinea and thence follows the said Low Water Mark in a North Westerly direction for approximately 70 feet to a point on the break water and thence follows the said break water in a South Westerly direction for approximately 298 feet and thence along the South bank of the Benya Lagoon for approximately 235 feet and thence on a bearing of approximately 177 degrees for approximately 45 feet to the point of commencement thus enclosing an approximate area of 66 acres be the same several dimensions little more or less as the same premises are more particularly delineated and shown edged Pink on a Plan numbered C.163 deposited in the offices of the Director of Surveys.
