Regulations And Guidelines For The Privatisation Of Internal Marketing Of Cocoa
The company shall comply with operation requirements set out i) Appendix 1.
3.2 Jute bags used by the Licensed Buying Company (hereinafter referred tb as LBC) to purchase cocoa must conform to specifications as set out in Appendix 1.
3.3 Bagging weight of cocoa presented by the LBC for grading and sealing shall conform to standard weight of 64.0 kilos gross. Take-over weight all take-over centres shall be 63.8 kilos gross or such other weight as may be determined from time to time.
3.4 Grading and Sealing: Grading and Sealing of produce prior to evacuation to take-over centres shall be as prescribed by law and Appendix 1 herein.
3.5 Cocoa Warehousing:
i. All storage sheds for cocoa shall be clearly marked and the LBCs logo indicated or embossed, ii. All storage .5heds shall conform with provisions of Appendix 1 hereof and reference in Paragraph 1 of the Cocoa Industry Regulations, 1968, L.I.598 and any other relevant regulations, iii. The LBC shall have depots in each cocoa district in which it operates. A depot shall have a minimum capacity of 100 tonnes.
3.6 Submission of Weekly Returns/Reports:
3.6.1 The LBC shall declare its returns weekly to the Office of the Chief Executive with copies to the following;
a. Monitoring, Evaluation and Projects (ME&P), Department of COCOBOD Head Office,
b. Research and Development (R & D), Department of COCOBOD Head Office,
c. QCD,
d. Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) Ltd.' and
Office of the Corporate Treasurer
The returns shall indicate the location of various categories of stocks for inspection by COCOBOD's accredited personnel.
3.6.2 The returns shall be in the form set out in Appendix Il or as may be modified from time to time after appropriate consultations.
3.6.3 The LBC shall submit the following to the Chief Executive of COCOBOD:
i. annual operational report ii. annual audited financial statement
3.6.4 Any request to amend returns after submission shall be subjected to investigation and if found irregular will attract sanctions (ref. Section 9)
