Regulation 432—The manager of a mine shall ensure that where a kep or any other contrivance is used in the mine for the purpose of landing a cage or other conveyance at any point in a shaft or winze, other than at the bank or the lowest point of travel for a skip, the kep or other contrivance is arranged in a manner that ensures that it automatically falls clear and remains clear of the hoisting compartment when the cage or other conveyance is lifted off.
