Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical Regulations) L.I. 2182
Regulation 441—(1) The manager of a mine shall ensure that in the mine each winding shaft, which exceeds fifteen metres in depth and which is not exempted in writing by the inspector, is provided with an efficient means of interchanging distinct and definite signals between the winding engine, the top of the shaft, and the lowest point from which winding is carried out, and the various intermediate stations in use.
(2) Subregulation (1) does not apply to signalling apparatus used during sinking operations.
