Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical Regulations) L.I. 2182

Regulation 530—A manager of a mining plant shall ensure that a process which is likely to produce gas, vapour, dust or fume to an extent that is likely to create a flammable mixture with air is carried out in an area which
(a) is isolated from other operations;
(b) has a system of ventilation which removes the gas, vapour, dust or fume;
(c) has no potential sources of ignition; and
(d) has vents, baffles, chokes, dampers or other means to reduce the effects of an explosion.
