Chattels Transfer Act, 1952 (Act 51)
Section 6: (1) The period within which an instrument may be registered shall be six weeks from the day on which it was executed or from the commencement of this Ordinance, whichever shall be the later. [As Amended by the Charttels Transfer (Amendment) Ordinance, 1953 (No 13 of 1953) s. 2(a) and 2(b)].
Provided that when the time for registering an instrument expires on a day whereon the Registrar's office is closed, the registration shall be valid if made on the next following day on which such office is open
